Faculty and Administrator Role Changes
Writer: Hayden Coombs
There have been some changes in the roles of various faculty and administrators. Brian Schmidt, Alan Dutson, and Marc Skinner have all begun their respective services, effective January 1st, 2013.
Brian Schmidt has been asked to supervise Institutional Resources and Support, which now includes Arlen Wilcock and Jeff Smith. This area provides resources for professional development and classroom instruction, as well as technology integration, in order to improve student learning. They report to Kelly Burgener.
Alan Dutson has been asked to serve as the Director of Academic Outcomes and Assessment. He reports to Ed Sexton, and works with Steve Hunsaker. This area helps to ensure the quality of academic programs on campus by assisting departments and faculty to establish appropriate learning outcomes and assessment strategies for their programs and courses.
Marc Skinner was recently appointed as Associate Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies in the College of Foundations and Interdisciplinary Studies. In his new role, Brother Skinner will direct all interdisciplinary study degree programs including certificates. He will also continue in his role as Directory of Inter-University Relations, where he oversees partnerships with other universities including international studies programs.
