Language exams for credit are typically offered to returned missionaries in the language of their missions. One cannot take these exams unless one has had a prolonged non-academic exposure to the language being tested, which in most cases is a lengthy foreign residency experience. The exams are not available to native speakers. To take the exams, one must also be a former or current Ricks College/BYU-Idaho student.

For the languages that are not taught at BYU-Idaho, the exams for credit come from BYU-Provo and are offered on our campus once each Fall and Winter Semeters. Further information and registration are available at the BYU Foreign Language Achievement Testing Service web site.
