Graduating in Information Systems

The specific requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems is found in the catalog. An excel Program Planning Worksheet (updated 3/10/05) is available to download. Please note that this worksheet is for those students planning to graduate with a B.S. degree from BYU-Idaho (major code 680).

For students who are active IS majors prior to Fall 2005, the old IS Major planning guide is still available (pdf file).

In addition, all IS majors (B.S. level) must have either a minor or 2 clusters. Clusters must be approved using the university form.

Information Systems Minor

Take all of the following courses*:

IS 203 Intro. to Programming I
IS 210 Object Oriented Programming I
IS 230 Page Layout and Graphics
IS 235 Web Page Development
IS 240 Networking
IS 320 Database Analysis and Design
IS 350 Managing Information Technology

And ONE of the following:

IS 310 Object Oriented Programming II
IS 330 Operating Systems
IS 340 Network Design

24 Credits Total

* All of these classes require IS 140 as a prerequisite.
