David Garrett started LIVFund after years of traveling, working and living in Latin America. From a young age, David was inspired to travel by his grandfather who encouraged a thirst for adventure and a never-ending quest for education. Through his grandfather, David made a continuous life goal to integrate the importance of travel, cultural exchange, language immersion, and openness to connecting with people into his life and into his children's lives. Since 2011, he has worked to spread this message through the LIVFund scholarship.LIVFund was established in 2011 in order to recognize and proudly support study, internship, and volunteer opportunities in Latin America. It has been designed for anyone who wants to learn, intern, or volunteer in Latin America and is seeking financial assistance in order to offset program or living abroad expenses. Our goal is to help others get the most out of their experience abroad.
The scholarship competition is open to anyone over the age of eighteen interested in learning, interning, or volunteering abroad in Latin America. LIVFund scholarships are available to those traveling abroad to study, intern, or volunteer in the following countries: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela.
