BYU-Idaho offers several opportunities for students to travel internationally, where they can enrich their college experience. International Study Programs (ISP) are designed to enhance students' academic studies by taking them out of the classroom and immersing them into environments and cultures than will expand their knowledge and provide a chance for observation and application. ISP is also intended to make international travel and study as accessible as possible for many students by keepings costs low while still delivering a quality experience.
The existing programs vary in content and length of time. Some are designed to be a excursion of a few weeks, visiting as many sites as possible, while others are a full academic semester, wherein students actually attend universities abroad.
