Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
This program offers U.S. undergraduate students, with limited financial means, an opportunity to pursue academic study abroad for the purpose of preparing for significant roles in an ever-increasing global economy and interdependent world.

Advisor Deadline: October 10, 2017
All U.S. citizen undergraduates who are accepted to an eligible study abroad program, in good academic standing, receiving a Federal Pell Grant or provide proof that will be receiving at the time of application. BYU-Idaho Academic Travel Tours do not qualify. Study Abroad experience must cover at least four consecutive weeks in one country, and must be in a location that is not on the US State Department Travel Warning list.
Amount of Award
Up to $5,000 but will vary dependent on need and length of study. Average award is $4,000. Recipients must use the award for tuition, room and board, books, local transportation, insurance, and international airfare. The Critical Need Language Award allows students studying important languages the opportunity to receive more money should they receive the initial scholarship.

Fall, winter, or spring/summer (summer only programs are not eligible)
