Faculty mentors from the Interdisciplinary Studies Team will now serve as academic advisors for IDS students.

On September 27, 2017, Sister Danae Romrell, Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies, announced a change in how faculty mentors are assigned via email to all Interdisciplinary Studies students.

Brother Van Crawford, Director of the Academic Advising Center, has served as both the academic advisor and faculty mentor for IDS students in the past.

Faculty from the Interdisciplinary studies team will now serve as faculty mentors, assisting students with questions about the value of an interdisciplinary degree, capstone and internship courses, and post-graduation plans.

Brother Crawford will continue to serve as an academic advisor only, assisting students with class planning, substitution needs, graduation requirements, and other related questions.

According to an email sent to IDS students, The Office of Foundations and Interdisciplinary Studies will be reaching out to students to schedule meetings with faculty mentors for all students.
