How to upload from the IC Recorder- Job Aid
Step 1: Take the USB cord and plug the larger end into the USB port on your computer.
Step 2: Take the recorder out of its case, and locate its USB port.
Plug in the other end of the USB cable into the recorder.
Step 3: In your computer, open Digital Voice Editor by going to start, All Programs, Sony Digital Voice Editor and then clicking on Digital Voice Editor.
If your recorder is plugged in, it will begin to upload your files from the recorder onto the computer.
After your recordings have been uploaded, they will be displayed within the Digital Voice Editor application. The bar at the bottom lets you listen to your different recordings.
In the window on the left you will see information regarding the recordings you have made. A folder with the letter A should be shown open. To view recordings you have made in other folders on your recorder, click on the respective folder.
Step 4: To save these recordings to your computer, click on one of the icons (with a picture of a floppy) on the top left of the application.
Save Message: This lets you save one message to your computer. Save Folder: This lets you save all the messages from one of the folders (A - E) to your computer. Save All: This lets you save all the messages from every folder (A - E) to your computer. We're going to show you how to Save All. Step 5: Click on the Save All icon and a window will open allowing you to select how and where to save.
Save In: This allows you to select the location where you would like to store your messages (you might want to save it to your H Drive).
Folder Name: Specify the name of the folder you would like your messages to be in.
Save as type: This allows you to select the format you would like to save your message in.
Click Save and your messages will be formatted and saved onto the computer. Step 6: To view the messages saved to your computer, in the top right window of Digital Voice Editor go to the folder you saved your messages in. In this folder, five more folders are shown. Each file represents the files (A - E) from your recorder and contain the messages saved in the format you selected.
