Getting Onto Your Online Course

Area 2)
The COURSE MATERIALS

The COURSE MATERIALS section is the heart of the course.  This is where you find the online information to study, and information about what to study in your textbook.

For most online courses, there is a link under "Course Documents" titled button in BlackBoard, you will see a link titled -
"Click Here to Access Course Content"

When you click this link, a new browser window will open with the Course Materials pages. This is your online course. BlackBoard will still be open in the background, where you can access your syllabus and other information about your course. For some online courses, you will access the course material straight out of BlackBoard.

The COURSE MATERIALS are divided into Lessons and Pages, or other divisions. Taking your online course consists of working your way through these lessons. Some of your courses will have due dates throughout the semester. Others have only one due date - the end of the semester. Read our syllabus information carefully for information about due dates for your course.

At the end of some of the lessons in the course materials pages, you will find a link to an assignments or ASSESSMENT page. This will open yet another browser window (you will have three windows open at this time - BlackBoard, the Course Materials, and the Assessment program, called Perception). The ASSESSMENT pages will be discussed next.
