Getting Onto Your Online Course

Area 3)
ASSESSMENT -- Perception

The assignments and tests for your online course are taken through a program called PERCEPTION.

Depending on the course you are taking, all or some of the lessons will have an assignment, quiz, or test at the end of the lesson. To access the assignment, click the link titled "
Begin Assignment" - this will open Perception.

1) The first thing you will see is a screen asking for a username and password. This is probably the same username and password you use to access your student e-mail, BlackBoard, and other campus computer applications.

Note 1: There is not a direct connection between the your student network login and the Perception program. If you change your network password, it will not change your Perception password. If you cannot login to Perception, call (208) 496-2361 or e-mail onlinehelp@byui.edu

2) The second thing you will see is a list of all the assignments/quizzes/tests that are available to you - in all of your online courses.

Click on the arrow next to the assignment you want to work on.

After you have completed the assignment, click the "Submit" button. You will receive a score and some feedback regarding your assignment.

If the assignment is an essay, it will give you a score of 0. After the instructor reads and grades the essay, the score will be updated.

Note 2: You can only access your assignments/quizzes/tests in Perception one (1)  time. You cannot open the assignment or test, then come back to it later to submit your answers.

If an assignment is not completed before the due date, it will no longer be available.

Midterm and Final tests are proctored and require a password. This will be supplied by the proctor.
