On September 12 and 13, 2013, Dr. Larry Michaelsen was on campus to lead several faculty workshops. Dr. Michaelsen is a David Ross Boyd Professor Emeritus of Management at the University of Oklahoma. He is a nationally recognized expert and author of five books on the use and abuse of group assignments in the university classroom, 2013.

Dr. Michelson discussed the principles that make group work effective, as well as the principles that hijack the group learning process. He helped faculty explore issues related to ensuring student skills development, asking for the right deliverables, and using processes that support objective achievement.
