Authenticating via SMS Text
This article will walk you through how to authenticate with a passcode sent to a mobile phone via an SMS text.
When you log in to your account after two-factor authentication is implemented, you will be prompted to choose which authentication method you'd like to use – push notification, phone call, text message, or a secret passcode. If you do not have a smartphone, but do have a mobile phone, you may opt to use SMS (text) passcodes as your second method of authentication.
To authenticate via a text message:
1. Log in to your BYU-Idaho account.
2. You'll be taken to the authentication method selection window. Click the box next to "Remember me for 30 days," then click "Enter a Passcode."
3. Click "Text me new codes."
4. You will now receive a text message with a passcode. Enter the passcode into the authentication screen on your computer and click "Log in."
