Just like when your extended family insists on visiting for Christmas, or Star Wars episodes 1, 2, and 3, nobody wants to get locked out of their account because of 2-factor authentication.

Well, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the Remember Me function makes 2FA a lot more bearable! The bad news: you're going to have to share a bed with your blanket-hogging cousin this Christmas. Sorry...

The Remember Me function on the DUO authentication page is all about making your login experience better. When the function is enabled, DUO will remember that it's you trying to access your account, and you won't have to authenticate for another 30 days! All you have to do is check the Remember Me box when you are asked to authenticate for the first time. Bada-bing. Bada-boom. No authenticating for 30 days. So easy.

If you don't check the box, then you will have to authenticate the next time you try to log in. DUO will continue to send authentication prompts every time you log in until the Remember Me box is checked.

Unfortunately, sometimes technology doesn't work the way it should. That is okay though, because if the "Remember Me" function doesn't seem to be working, it could be for a couple of reasons.

Possible Reasons the Remember Me Function Isn't Working

• You need to clear your cache and/or cookies to reset your Remember Me status.

• The Remember Me function doesn't work on the Workday app.

• Privacy blocker apps and blocking cookies can also block the Remember Me function from working properly.

• You are on a new device. If you log in with a new device, you will have to click the Remember Me box again for the new device.

• The function watched The Phantom Menace and had to forget. (Just kidding.)

Log in, check the box, and don't authenticate for 30 days! If the function still isn't working after going through the problems listed above, the people at the BYU-Idaho Support Center (BSC) would be more than willing to help. Just call (208) 496-1411 to get in contact with someone who can help.

So maybe, just maybe, a Christmas visit from your Great Aunt Margery, the Star Wars prequels, and 2FA aren't so bad? Well, the jury is still out for the first two, but as long as you don't forget to remember, 2FA will be a breeze.
