On January 29, 2018, a phishing email regarding a phony "server upgrade" went out to thousands of BYU-Idaho accounts. This email has since been purged from all affected inboxes.
The phishing email was dealt with swiftly due to the proactivity of those who reported it. As such, the IT department would like to remind everyone of how to report a phishing email.
When you receive an email that you suspect to be phishing, simply forward the phishing email to firstname.lastname@example.org. When you report phishing messages, the university is notified about the phishing threat and can work quickly to remove it from your fellow students and/or coworker's accounts.
