Recently, on-campus employees have been receiving calls from an unidentified caller claiming to be from IT Support. The caller claims that your printer needs new cartridges, and if you order with them over the phone, you will get a discounted price. They then ask you for the make and model of your printer, a confirmation of your location, and your credit card information.
This phone call sounds very official; however, please know that the on-campus printer cartridges are ordered through an automated system. Because of this, IT Support will not call you to order new cartridges, and they will never ask for your credit card information over the phone.
If you receive a phone call like this, report the call immediately to the BYU-Idaho Support Center (BSC) by calling 208-496-1411 or by filling out a ticket here.
