    • Your device will now try to locate your Exchange Server using Microsoft's Autodiscovery service. If it does not do it automatically you might have to enter our server info manually. (
  7. Choose Settings:
    • After successfully making a connection to the Exchange Server, you may be prompted to choose which type or types of data you would like to synchronize: Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Note that by default, only three days' worth of email is synchronized.
    • To synchronize more than three days:
      1. Settings
      2. Mail, Contacts, Calendars
      3. Select your Exchange account
      4. Tap on Mail days to sync.

Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the device is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your  device wirelessly with MobileMe services.

Outlook Web App (OWA):

If you have been logging in to your email through the Safari browser, you might have noticed a new pop up at the top of your screen suggesting that you use the "OWA" app to access your email.  This is a great interface that provides you with email notifications even when your browser is not on your email page at  Here's a simple setup tutorial to help you get that going.

  1. Select the link and download the app from the App Store.
  2. Open the app and you will see a window that says, "Before you must have the latest version of Office 365 to use this app."  As far as Outlook goes, you're good there.  Click continue.
  3. You'll be brought to a sign in page, asking for an email address and password.  This is the crucial part of the setup.  Remember that, here, you need to use your and password instead of your BYU-Idaho email address.  If you use your BYU-Idaho email address, it will NOT work.  Only and your password will allow you access.
  4. After you have entered your and your password, click "Sign In".  At that point you'll be taken to your mailbox and syncing will process your email into your new app for email.

Microsoft Outlook App:

This is Microsoft's newest app.  It appears to be poised to replace OWA.
