Customize Workday settings to receive Outlook notifications of Workday inbox items.

Set Up Instructions

Step 1: Click on the employee picture in the upper right-hand corner of the Workday home page

Step 2: Select My Account

Step 3: Select Change Preferences

Step 4: Scroll to the section titled Alerts

Step 5: Change preferences to:

  • Time Off: Daily Digest
    (Receive a daily notification of time off requests awaiting approval)

Step 6: Scroll to the section titled Business Processes

Step 5: Change preferences for the following:

  • Tasks: Immediate
    (An e-mail is sent immediately when there is a task needing attention)
  • To-Do’s: Immediate
    (An e-mail is sent immediately when there is an action item needing attention)
  • Approvals: Immediate
    (An e-mail is sent immediately when approval is needed)
  • Custom Business Process Notifications: Immediate
    (An e-mail is sent immediately when there is an action item needing attention)

Note: The immediate setting is recommended for Tasks and To Do’s, as there may be multiple levels of approval through line management.
