Pay Rates for Student Employees

(Please Note: Hourly minimum wages for student employees will automatically be increased starting with the January 1st-15th pay period (the January 23rd paycheck) to $8.30/hr. All other wage rates need to be updated, if necessary, with regular "time and attendance" reporting at the end of each pay period.)

2013 Job Categories and Suggested Pay Rates

     1. Regular Jobs (requiring general skills and no specific education or work experience) . . . $8.30
     2. "Leads" and "Specialists" (requiring prior education, experience, or certifications) . . . $8.55
     3. Coordinators (requiring managerial/supervisory or highly specialized skills) . . . $9.40

2012 Job Categories and Suggested Pay Rates

     1.  Regular Jobs (requiring general skills and no specific education or work experience) . . . $8.10
     2.  "Leads" and "Specialists" (requiring prior education, experience, or certifications) . . . $8.35
     3.  Coordinators (requiring managerial/supervisory or highly specialized skills) . . . $9.20

Please note: 

       •  The "Regular Job" rate listed above is BYU-Idaho's minimum wage (which is higher than the Federal
           minimum wage of $7.25).
       •  Rate increases may be granted at the beginning of each semester—as determined by departments.
       •  Departments are encouraged to offer a shift differential of 30 cents per hour for students whose
           work schedules start and end between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
