How does billing work for on-campus housing?

Revised:  March 22, 2011

On-campus housing payments are broken up into three payments or can be paid in advance. The first payment posts to a student's account the first day of the month prior to the contract beginning and is due the last day of that month. For example, if the Fall semester contract begins September 6th, the first payment is due at the end of August.

On-campus housing payments can be paid for online with an e-check or with a MasterCard through my.byui.edu under the "Finances" tab or by contacting the Cashier's Office at (208) 496-1074 or in the Kimball building. Special payment arrangements can be made with the Bursars Office at (208) 496-1931.

If you are struggling to figure out how to pay for your housing, please contact the Financial Aid Office for assistance and direction at (208) 496-1600. However, please note that financial aid cannot be used as an acceptable form of payment for the initial security deposit.

It is important to remember that signing a contract for any housing, off or on campus, is legally binding and you are responsible to pay the contract in full. This is a matter of integrity and is taken seriously at BYU-Idaho.

Will my parents see my housing billing information?

All billing information will be sent to the contract holder (the student). You will initially be sent payment slips (we call them 'coupons') detailing the amounts and due dates of your payments.

Through the financial summary screen on my.byui.edu, students can send information to their parents that allows them (parents) to make payments toward's a student's debts.
