Are freshman required to live on campus? |
| No. Single students may live in any on or off campus housing as long as it is a BYU-Idaho approved housing complex.

Is there a deadline to reserve on-campus housing? |
| No. However the sooner you reserve housing, the easier it is to get a reservation. If you wait too long, the housing option you prefer may fill, leaving you only the option of being placed on a waiting list or reserving elsewhere. |

Is there a quiet study housing option available? |
| Yes. You will need to request this option online, or by checking this option on your personal data sheet that will be sent with your housing contract.

When will I find out my room assignment and roommates? |
| Room and roommate assignments are finalized shortly before housing check-ins and are given out at that time.

Can I request a roommate? |
| Yes. You can request a roommate online, or by contacting the Housing Office. In order for your request to be granted both students desiring to become roommates will need to submit a request with the other student's full name. Requests for roommates need to be turned into the Housing Office via email, phone, or on the online application one month before check-ins.

What ward will I be in and who will my bishop be? |
| Head residents are informed each year of ward boundaries relative to their dorm or hall. You will find out what ward you are in when you check in. Visit the Stake/Ward Locator online for more information.

Can I make changes to my upcoming housing reservation? |
| Yes. Changes to upcoming housing reservations are currently handled by the Housing Office. Stop by the office or call to make changes. You can also make these changes online.

Is it possible to change to a different room? |
| If you wish to move to a different room within your on-campus apartment or residence hall, just talk to your head resident. She will help you arrange a move if possible.

Where do I send my housing payments? |
| Pay at the Cashiers Office or send them to the Housing Office. Please, do not send cash. Payments can also be made via phone by calling the Cashiers Office or online with an electronic check or credit card.

How can I get replacement payment coupons? |
| Just contact the Housing Office at 208-496-1045. We will be glad to send you a new copy.

Will my parents receive billing information? |
| All billing information will be sent to you, as you are the individual who has entered into the housing agreement. You will initially be sent coupons detailing the amounts and due dates of your payments. Further billing correspondence will be sent to you from the Accounting Office. If your parents will be making these housing payments, please make sure you give this information to them. Current housing charges can be viewed and paid online.

What if I am leaving during my reserved contract period? |
| Let your head resident and the Housing Office know that you are leaving as soon as possible. For some situations (missions, graduation, or marriage) you may be released from your agreement. For other situations a termination fee may be charged.

When will I get my deposit back? |
| Deposits are returned within 30 days following termination of a contract unless the resident has a future on-campus contract and it is necessary to retain the deposit to cover that contract. Monies may also be kept from the deposit when there are damages, lost keys, unpaid charges to the university, etc.

Do I need to have a meal plan? |
| Any student may purchase a meal plan if they would like one. Students living in men's and women's non-cooking style housing select a premium gold, premium silver, or premium platinum meal plan as part of their board and meal contract. Beginning winter semester 2008, all meals plans will be purchased directly through the meal plan office. Please visit the Food Service webiste for more information.

How do I change my meal plan? |
| You can downgrade or upgrade your meal plan during the first week of your contract period. After the first week, only changes upgrading meal plans will be allowed. Contact the Housing Office to make these changes or do it online.

May I have guests stay overnight? |
| Overnight guests of the same gender are welcome for short stays with the permission of roommates and notification to the head resident but not during the weeks prior to, during, or after check-in and checkout. (More than two days would be unusual.) Typically there is no charge for immediate family. |
