Important message for students bringing vehicles

Students should be aware that from November 1 of each year to March 1 of the following year, the city of Rexburg prohibits motor vehicle parking on public streets between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. Since overnight parking on public streets is not available during those hours, students should thoroughly investigate the parking facilities of any off-campus housing complex prior to entering into a housing contract. 

In addition, private parking associated with some off-campus housing units is limited. The amount of parking associated with local off-campus housing complexes ranges from four parking spaces for every ten beds to one parking space for each bed. Students choosing to live off campus who wish to bring a motor vehicle to school should carefully investigate parking availability. Prior to selecting a housing complex, students should be fully informed regarding:

    1. the number and proximity of available parking spaces at the complex,

    2. the number of students who intend to bring motor vehicles to the complex, and

    3. the manner in which parking is assigned and regulated at the complex.
