Do I need to live in approved housing when I am off-track?

Current matriculating single students who are off track and continue to live in the immediate Rexburg area are required to live in BYU-Idaho approved, single student housing as condition of their continued enrollment.

Are freshmen required to live on-campus?

All students have the choice of living on or off campus, regardless of scholastic status. Single students who choose to live off campus must live in BYU-Idaho approved housing units.

Who operates and manages approved off-campus housing units?

Private owners operate and manage approved off-campus units. All approved units are required to have an on-site manager who receives training and assistance through BYU-Idaho.

 

What does it mean for an off-campus housing unit to be considered approved?

Approved units are those that have met the minimum guidelines for single student university housing. Inspections are done yearly for each approved unit. Currently there are 100+ approved off-campus apartment units for BYU-Idaho single students.

 

What is the best way to select an off-campus unit?

Visit the websites of units that interest you. Prices, options, and amenities are listed on the off-campus web page. Individual links are established with many units to allow you to browse through information, view pictures, and apply online. If you are in the Rexburg area, it would also be beneficial to stop by and take a tour of units that you are interested in.

 

Are the rules or living guidelines different if I live in an off-campus apartment?

All students have agreed to live by the Honor Code. Approved off-campus units and their managers have gained approval status by also agreeing to live by and enforce the Honor Code.

How do I sell my housing contract?
