I-Learn Naming Practices

In specific locations within I-Learn you will see a message similar to this:

Use only alphanumeric characters

To ensure your documents are readable by the instructor, be sure to only use alphanumeric characters.  This includes all letters and numbers.

Avoid using these special characters in a document name or item title:

#    ,    "    '    %    &    <   >    +    *    ^    @    =

Also, avoid using spaces.

When Naming Assignments

A good naming practice for assignments you turn in through the Digital Dropbox or the assignment tool is using your name and assignment name in the title:

An example:

If your name is John Smith and you are turning in a History Civil War paper, use smithjcivilwar.doc

Following these practices will help ensure that your instructor can open, identify your assignment, and give you a grade.
