Access email with a Smartphone/PDA
Most smartphones or PDAs have at least these 2 methods of retrieving your email: IMAP & POP3. Below you will see the settings for setting up each method.
IMAP:
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.byui.edu. Select SSL and Port 993 if available.
- Outgoing Mail Server: your cellphone providers outgoing mail server
- Account name or Username: enter students, your NetID, & the first part of your email address separated by forward slashes
Example: if your NetID is smith1 and your email is smi02005@byui.edu, you would use students/smith1/smi02005 - Password: This is the password associated with your BYU-Idaho NetID.
POP3:
- Mail Server or Incoming Mail Server: mail.byui.edu. Select SSL and Port 995 if available.
- Outgoing Mail Server: your phone providers outgoing mail server
- E-mail address: This is the BYU-Idaho e-mail address from which you wish to retrieve mail.
- Account name or Username: enter students, your NetID, & the first part of your email address separated by forward slashes
Example: if your NetID is smith1 and your email is smi02005@byui.edu, you would use students/smith1/smi02005 - Password: This is the password associated with your BYU-Idaho NetID.
