Outlook 2010 Instructions

Email setup for home use Outlook 2010 If Outlook has not been setup then click outlook and then next, next, then follow below. If Outlook has already been setup then do the following. Click Start, Control Panel, Mail, Email Accounts, Add Account, then Email Account. then follow below. If you have had problems with email setup an easy fix would be to delete the profile and create a new one. Be advised that it will delete your settings. An alternative would be to create another profile and try to follow these instructions. If the 2010 setup doesn’t work then try the 2007 at home setup



The next step take a couple of minutes. Please be patient.



You will then see this screen.



Change email to byui\your username and password to your password.



When the setup is complete the the next screen will look like this. Way to go. Success.



Then finish and open Outlook. If no success call the Helpdesk at 496-9000.

Outlook 2007 and Older Instructions

Email setup for home use Exchange & Outlook 2007 and older. If Outlook has not been setup then click outlook and then next, next, then follow below. If Outlook has already been setup then do the following. Click Start, Control Panel, Mail, Email Accounts, Add Account, then Email Account. then follow below. If you have had problems with email setup an easy fix would be to delete the profile and create a new one. Be advised that it will delete your settings. An alternative would be to create another profile and try to follow these instructions.


Then Manually Configure Server



Then Microsoft Exchange



Then Server: gold.byui.edu or silver.byui.edu if email starts with m to z. User Name: email address. Then More Settings


Then Connection Tab, Outlook Anywhere, and Exchange Proxy Settings.


Then Connection Settings server is: owa.byui.edu Check Connect using SSL and Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate: msstd:owa.byui.edu Than Proxy authentication settings is Basic Authentication.



Then Ok, Ok and Check Name



Then make sure you add byui\ before your usename.



Then you should see your email address change to the following with the underlying


If no success call the Helpdesk at 496-9000.
