Application

The Heber J. Grant Scholarship Program is for current and future college students who are facing or have overcome circumstances that may challenge their pursuit of a BYU–Idaho education. If any of the following circumstances describes you, you may qualify for the program:

- Your family income has been low over time

- Your parents did not graduate from college

- You were raised in a single-parent home

- Your parents are not active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

- You were raised in an area where few attended college

- You have overcome other long-term disadvantages

Whether you are a current BYU–Idaho student or you are thinking of becoming a BYU–Idaho student in the future, you can apply for the scholarship.

 

 

Future StudentsCurrent Students

If you are age 13 or over, you are eligible to apply for the Heber J. Grant scholarship.

 

1. Complete the online scholarship application. (see link below)


2. Four to six weeks after the deadline, you will receive an e-mail from the Student Financial Aid Office notifying you of your acceptance status.*

3. Once you are accepted for admission to BYU-Idaho, you will be eligible for Heber J. Grant scholarship award, and you will have further opportunities to be involved with the program.

 

* NOTE: The application to the Heber J. Grant Program is not associated with the application for admission to BYU-Idaho. If you are not a current BYU-Idaho student, you must be accepted for admission through a separate application process in order to enroll in classes at BYU-Idaho. For information on admission to BYU-Idaho, please visit www.byui.edu/admissions.

As a BYU-Idaho student, you can apply for the Heber J. Grant scholarship at any time.

2. Four to six weeks after the deadline, you will receive an e-mail from the Student Financial Aid Office notifying you of your acceptance status.*

3. If you are awarded the scholarship, your acceptance letter will also notify you of your first two-semester Heber J. Grant scholarship award.
