INS Physicals

To make an appointment, call 208-496-1300.

Guidelines:

  • Bring your Immigration papers with you to the very first appointment. You may obtain these by visiting the website www.uscis.gov. It is very important that you bring the most current form available, as they are revised periodically and old forms are not accepted by the USCIS.
  • Bring your immunization records with you to the first appointment.
  • Be 15-20 minutes early for all of your appointments.
  • After all the lab work is complete, your physical will be performed by Dr. Miller.

There are at least three stages to the physical:

First

You will need to make an appointment with the lab to have blood drawn, and a TB test administered.  This may not be done on Thursdays under any circumstances because the TB test must be checked 36-48 hours later, and we are not open on Saturday or Sunday. The TB test must be checked 36-48 hours later at the same facility that administered the test.  You will not need to have an appointment to have the TB test read, but you will need to return to the Health Center.  If you neglect to come in to have the test read, you will be required to have the test administered again. The blood tests are sent to an outside facility and take about a week for the results to return to us.  You may not see the physician until your lab results return.

Second

You will need to meet with the immunizations nurse, to go over your immunization records.  You will need to bring your immunization records with you.  These can sometimes be obtained from your high school.

You may have the lab work and the immunization appointment done on the same day.

Third

You will need to meet with Dr. Miller for a physical.  This physical can only be performed by Dr. Miller.
