Confidentiality

By law, the BYU-Idaho Student Health Center is required to keep confidential, all records as to the identity, diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment of patients utilizing our services. In accordance with Public Law 93-282, a patient’s consent must be secured for information to be released to a third party (including parents of patients, even if they are considered dependents for tax purposes). Information may also be released if it is sought through an appropriate court order or as required by law.

 

 

If patients of the BYU-Idaho Student Health Center would like to have their information released to parents or other third parties, they must go to the Student Health Center, and sign a form authorizing such release.
