The Spring Summit Program is designed to introduce students to a variety of natural environments (desert, canyon, mountain & river). Summit provides firsthand opportunity to learn about desert ecology, wildlife, canyonlands geology, national park resource management, Native American History and Leave no Trace Principles (LNT). Students also develop various outdoor skills including wilderness survival, canyoneering, mountain biking, camping, backpacking, and river running & river camping skills. Lastly, students through first hand experience, develop leadership skills including trip planning, communication, teaching experientially, decision making, risk management, problem solving, judgment, group development and expedition behavior.
