Oral Health :
How should I care for my mouth, and when should I see a dentist?

Good oral health improves your general health. Periodontal (tooth and gum) disease may cause still birth, low birth weight, preterm birth, and preeclampsia (a life-threatening illness that can occur during pregnancy). We recommend brushing your teeth twice daily, flossing daily and seeing your dentist twice a year. If you think you might be pregnant when you go to the dentist, be sure to tell your dentist.
