7 Steps for a Healthy Semester
With flu season underway, please take precautions to avoid getting sick or passing viruses to other people. Following are some suggestions to keep healthy and to prevent spreading illnesses to others.
Get a Shot
Protect yourself from the seasonal flu by getting vaccinated.
Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for 15-20 seconds, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are also effective.
Sneeze into a tissue or your sleeve, not into your hands.
Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth. This is how germs spread.
Avoid close contact with others who are ill.
When sick, limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. Stay home until your fever has been gone for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medications).
