Graduation exercises at BYU-Idaho differ than most others in that we invite the ministry of the Spirit by our conduct and proceedings.  To assist in this process and to show respect for everyone present, graduates are asked to adhere to BYU-Idaho's Dress and Grooming Standard of Sunday Dress.  Additionally, so as not to draw attention to any one individual, flowers, leis, and other embellishments should not  be attached to or worn with the cap and gown.  Cords and medallions are not approved and may not be worn.  Please do not put anything on your cap other than your tassel.  Position the tassel on the left side of the academic cap, and wear the cap squarely on your head.  Male graduates should remove their caps for prayers and posting of the Colors.  Graduates may keep the cap, gown and tassel.
