BYU-Idaho Welcome (for new students and parents)
New students and parents will have the opportunity to meet together and hear from President & Sister Clark for the first part of this session. Students will then be dismissed to go meet their I-Team on the stadium field. Parents will have the opportunity to hear a special message from President & Sister Clark as well as participate in a question and answer session with the BYU-Idaho administration.Back to Top

Get Connected Registration
New students should register on move-in day to be placed in an I-Team. There is no fee to participate in Get Connected, except for those events which are ticketed. Registration will take place on the Taylor Quad, at the Ricks Building on Move-in Day only, and at selected off-campus complexes.Back to Top

Housing Complex Move-ins
Move into your on-campus or off-campus housing complex beginning at 8 a.m. If living on-campus, check-ins will take place in the Ricks Building, main lounge.Back to Top
I-Card Distribution
All new students must obtain an I-Card,however, you can get by without your I-Card until the 5th day of class. Avoid long lines during Get Connected and plan now to obtain your I-Card once school has started. Be sure to dress appropriately and bring photo ID and your I-Number with you. Students who are not dressed appropriately will be asked to return home and change. Visit the Student Honor Web site for more information on dress and grooming standards. I-Night Extravaganza
Start your semester off right by coming to I-Night. Get in on the fun and excitement at BYUI’s biggest back to school bash held at the start of each semester.

Learning and Teaching at BYU-Idaho
Explore the learning model at BYU-Idaho and discover your role and responsibiliies in both teaching and learning. This interactive session will give you the opportunity to experience the learning model and an actual classroom experience.
Living by the Spirit at BYU-Idaho (Morningside)
Attend this session with your I-Team and be prepared to be taught by the spirit. This will be an interactive session and you will have the opportunity to stand up and share your thoughts and experiences. Be sure to bring your scriptures and pen and paper with you to this session.

Meet the Faculty and Lunch
Faculty from across campus have been invited to host you for lunch and an interactive discussion including a Q&A session. Enjoy meeting with the faculty who will be teaching you at BYU-Idaho.
Meet Your I-Team
After you are dismissed from the New Student/Parent Connections, you will proceed to the BYU-Idaho stadium where you will meet with your I-Team, a grouping of new students (guys and girls) for the first time.
Morningside Breakfast
Enjoy the free Morningside breakfast with your I-Team and participate in a group discussion prior to the Living by the Spirit at BYU-Idaho session. Don’t forget to bring your scriptures as well as paper and pen so you can take notes during Morningside. Also prepare yourself to participate in this interactive session.

New Student BBQ
Meet as an I-Team and kick-off your BYUI experience with food,music, games, discussion, and more. Here you will also meet other new students from different
I-Teams.
New Student Dance
Enjoy the new student dance on the upper play fields after the Get Involved/New Student Talent Show. The cost is $1.00 and BYU-Idaho dress and grooming standards will be enforced. Back to Top
New Student/Parent Lunch
Enjoy a lunch during Move-in Day provided by the BYU-Idaho Alumni Association. The cost is $1.00 and tickets can be purchased at the event or in advance by calling 1-800-717-4257 or online at www.byui.edu/Tickets.
New Student/Parent Luau
New students, parents and families are invited to enjoy a Polynesian luau featuringfood, music, entertainmentand always the crowd favorite – Samoan fire dancing.
This event has traditionally sold out so plan ahead and order your tickets in advance by calling 1-800-717-4257 or online at www.byui.edu/Tickets.
The cost is $18 per person when purchased in advance or $19 at the door if tickets are still available. Each person attending must have a ticket. Tickets are non-refundable. Seating is first-come, first-seated. Patrons arriving 20 minutes or more late should not expect to be seated together and may not be able to eat..Back to Top
New Student Talent Show
New students are invited to let your light so shine by sharing your talents during Get Connected. New students are invited to submit video auditions by e-mail to spiritevents@byui.edu. You may attach video clip or send us the web link for your video audition. Auditions will also be held on campus on Monday, September 7th from 8:30 - 10:30 p.m. in the RIgby Hall lounge (1st floor), as well as Tuesday, September 8th, from 7 - 9 a.m. in the same location. Outdoor Expeditions
New students with their I-Teams are invited to participate in Outdoor Expeditions as part of Get Connected. I-Team groups can sign up to participate in one of the various expeditions at no cost to students. Each I-Team that signs up to participate will be asked to rank order their expedition preferences. All students who sign up to participate must sign a document which authorizes Student Spirit Events to charge their student account $10.00 if they fail to participate in the expedition after signing up for it. Transportation will be provided but students must provide their own water or drinks, snacks, jacket, sunscreen, insect repellant, etc. For more information contact spiritevents@byui.edu.Back to Top
