What to Do if Classes are Full

If one or more of the recommended Foundation courses is full, consider the following suggestions:

  • Check openings for other required Foundation courses.
  • Visit your satellite advising center (assigned according to your declared major) to explore other class options. You may be able to enroll in other classes related to your major.
  • Keep checking the registration system on a regular basis. Students are continually adding and dropping classes through the beginning of the semester. Some seats are likely to open in some of the classes.
  • Attend class the first day and ask the instructor if there is room available in the class. Professors will often add students into the class if there is extra space.

You may have noticed that some Foundations courses still have available seats for PMP or Quest students. PMP is the Prospective Missionary Program through Continuing Education. The program enables male, prospective missionaries on the winter/spring track to finish a semester of college without delaying their missions for school. If you are not a PMP student, you will not be able to fill these seats.

Quest is an academic program that provides a select group of students a semester of experiential education. Students spend half a semester on the BYU-Idaho campus and the other half at Badger Creek Outdoor Learning Center. Only students involved in the Quest program will be able to fill the allotted seats.
