Join A Teaching Team

BYU-Idaho faculty that teach Foundations courses are expected to participate in a teaching team for their course. If you are interested in or have been assigned to teach a specific Foundations course, please contact the Dean or Associate Dean of Foundations who can provide you with more information and refer you to the team lead. Recommending Faculty for Teaching Teams

If you are a department chair, dean, or team lead and would like to recommend a faculty member to teach a Foundations course and be part of its teaching team, please contact either the Dean or Associate Dean of Foundations. Click ‘Contact’ in the menu above for our contact info.

Expectations & Responsibilities

Faculty that teach Foundations courses are expected to participate in and contribute to the teaching team for their course. All Foundations courses are evaluated every semester through the student Course Evaluation process. Foundations faculty are expected to use a shared curriculum and common assessments in their courses. Both quantitative and qualitative assessment activities are built into the Foundations program.

Professional Development

Foundations provides faculty with opportunities for professional development in connection with courses they teach. Limited financial support is available for course development and professional development activities. Please contact the Dean or Associate Dean of Foundations for details.
