This two-credit interdisciplinary course will address the challenges to modernization faced by developing nations in an increasingly globalizing world. Emphasis will be given to studying and analyzing issues such as geography and natural resources, history, culture, economic policies, poverty, education, politics, government, environmental sustainability,and other issues related to a basic understanding of the complexities of the vast majority of the world's population.
