General Scholarship Information
The BYU-Idaho Scholarship Office offers various awards to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, service, talent, or major. All BYU-Idaho scholarships are merit based. Some awards combine merit with need. Scholarship funds are provided through sacred resources of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and offerings of generous donors to the University. They represent an investment in students' education and are given to enhance students' physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth.
General Requirements
Scholarship recipients are required to: (1) abide by the Honor Code and Dress and Grooming Standards of the University, (2) attend full-time, taking at least 14 credits per semester and have less than 130 cumulative credits, (3) maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, and (4) students can receive more than one award, however, typically totals may not exceed full LDS tuition.
*Students who receive scholarship money and then drop below 14 semester credits will be disqualified from receiving any further BYU-Idaho scholarships. Possible disciplinary action could also incur for Honor Code violations. Exception: Students in their last semester prior to receiving a bachelor degree who have less than 130 cumulative semester credits may qualify for awards if they need less than 14 semester credits to graduate and can produce an enrollment form from the Registrar's Office verifying graduation.
