Award of Excellence Scholarship

New Freshman only


This scholarship is for newly admitted freshmen and is based on church activity, seminary activity, cumulative high school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, leadership, service, extracurricular activities, and essays. These awards range from quarter tuition to full tuition plus $250 for books. All new freshman applying for admission to BYU-Idaho will be considered for the Award of Excellence. These awards are generally given for two semesters, but on rare occasions may be awarded for only one semester. No additional application is required.

Award of Excellence -- Thomas E. Ricks Award
The Thomas E. Ricks Award is among the most prestigious awards offered by BYU-Idaho. Recipients will receive a full tuition scholarship plus $250 for books for two semesters.

 

Award of Excellence -- Full Tuition
Recipients of this award will receive full tuition for two semesters.

 

Award of Excellence -- Half Tuition
Recipients of this award will receive half tuition for two semesters.

 

Award of Excellence -- Quarter Tuition
Recipients of this award will receive quarter tuition for two semesters.

Those who receive an Award of Excellence Scholarship on the Fall/Winter Track will be awarded the first Fall and following Winter Semester. Winter/Spring Track students will be awarded during the first Winter and following Spring Semester. Likewise, Spring/Fall Track students will receive their awards the first Fall and following Spring Semester. Award of Excellence (AOE) scholars will not be considered again for any Academic Scholarships (listed on next page) until the current AOE scholarship expires.
