Academic Scholarships
If you meet the qualifications below, you will be awarded the described scholarship accordingly.
All current, former, and transfer students who register for classes and have a minimum of 30 but less than 130 cumulative (total college career including AP/IB and language tests) credits at the beginning of the evaluated semester will be considered for academic scholarships automatically. Students’ academic credentials will be evaluated during the Fall, Winter, and Spring Semesters.
This scholarship is awarded for two or three on-track semesters at a time and is based upon cumulative GPA and credits earned. Students who do receive a two or three-semester Academic Scholarship will not be considered again until the current award expires. Those who do not receive an Academic Scholarship will be re-evaluated throughout the year. A three semester award will be made in the event the student's award falls out of sync with the academic year. For instance, a student who is on the Spring/Fall track who qualifies for the first award in the Spring will receive a Spring/Fall/Spring award. The subsequent awards will then be only two semesters in line with the academic calendar.
The BYU-Idaho Academic Scholarship guidelines are based upon a Variable Step System: (GPA levels are subject to change based upon competition levels.)
Sophomores (30 – 59 Credits)
3.900 – 4.000 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Full Tuition

3.700 – 3.799 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Quarter Tuition
Juniors (60 – 89 Credits)
3.850 – 4.000 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Full Tuition
3.750 – 3.849 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Half Tuition
3.650 – 3.749 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Quarter Tuition
Seniors (90-129 Credits)
3.800 – 4.000 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Full Tuition
3.700 – 3.799 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Half Tuition
3.600 – 3.699 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Quarter Tuition
Notifications can be expected up to three weeks after the specified evaluation times listed previously.
