Applying for Federal Financial Aid
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step towards obtaining Federal Grants and Student Loans. Listed below are the details for completing this process.

Step 1 Request a PIN
If you are a dependent student, one of your parents will also need to request a PIN.
If you previously receive a PIN but have lost it, you may request a duplicate.
Step 2 Required Documents
Collect the required documents needed to complete the FAFSA.
Step 3 Apply
The BYU-Idaho school code required on the FAFSA is 001625.
If you would like to practice first, you may complete a paper pre- application worksheet before completing the FAFSA.

Step 4 Financial Aid Projection Form
Please complete this form to give us an idea of your attendance plans.
This is also where you will let us know if you are interested in student loans.
Step 5 Status
Check your financial aid account periodically to monitor the progress of your
application.
Step 6 Title IV Authorization
This form will let us know your intent for your Financial Aid Awards. Tuition, fees,
On-campus housing and meal plans will automatically be deducted from your
award. If you wish to have other campus charges deducted automatically, you
must answer "Yes" on the form.
