Margins
Before you begin writing, set your margins to one inch on all sides and left-justify your paper.
Font and Spacing
Set your font to an easily readable typeface such as Times New Roman. Use a standard font size, such as12-point. Double-space your whole document. Do not add extra spaces in between your heading, your title, or your body paragraphs. Indent the first line of each paragraph one tab. Unless your instructor prefers two spaces, insert only one space after each period.
Page Number
In the upper-right of each page, include your last name and the page number. They should be 1/2 inch from the top of the page.
Heading
In the upper-left of your first page, include your name, your professor's name, the course number, and the date (in that order). The heading should be double-spaced.
Title
After the heading, include a centered title. Do not bold, italicize, or underline your title. Follow the rules for capitalization, and italicize only words that you would italicize in the text.
