How to Format Your Paper
To format your paper correctly, make sure you do all of the following. Use the example below as a reference point.
Margins
Before you begin writing, set your margins to one inch on all sides and left-justify your paper.
Font and Spacing
Set your font to Times New Roman and 12-point font. Double-space your whole document. Do not add extra spaces in between your heading, your title, and your body paragraphs. Indent the first line of each paragraph one tab. Insert only one space after each period.
Page Number
In the upper-right of each page, include your last name and the page number. They should be 1/2 inch from the top of the page.
Heading
In the upper-left of your first page, include your name, your professor's name, the course number, and the date (in that order). The heading should be double-spaced.
Title
After the heading, include a centered title. Do not bold, italicize, or underline your title.
