Dr. Randall Kempton (M.M. Brigham Young University, D.M.A. Arizona State University) came to Brigham Young University-Idaho in 1999 and currently serves as Director of Choral Activities and conductor of the Collegiate Singers. He has taught private void, diction, conducting, arranging, and choral methods courses, and has directed the University Choir, Men's Choir, and Women's Choir. Prior to his arrival in Rexburg, he conducted ensembles at Arizona State University, BYU in Provo, Utah Valley State College, and the Meridian school in Provo, Utah. His professional experience includes work as a pianist, vocal coach, and vocalist in classical, jazz, and musical theater settings. He studied conducting and arranging with Mack Wilberg and Ron Staheli. Dr. Kempton and his wife Jen are the happy but often frazzled parents of nine children.
