William J. Riggins Jr. received a bachelor’s degree in Social Science from San Diego State University, a master’s in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University and a doctorate in Education Leadership and Management from Alliant International University. Riggins Jr. has been an early morning seminary teacher for 12 years, full time employee of the Church Educational System for 11 years, and a full time employee of BYU-Idaho for seven years.
Riggins Jr. was married to Bonnie L. McKee in the Los Angles California Temple, November 30, 1979.They have four children: William III - married to Kasey Semensen – two children – reside in San Diego. Jeree - married to Kyle Marostica – six children – reside in Rexburg. Alexander - single, graduating from SDSU in journalism, and Jessica - married to Tony Madsen – reside in Rexburg
William loves being a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He worked in the swimming pool industry for 17 years prior to earning his bachelor’s degree at the age of 39. He loves building; and says, “It brings the creator out of me!” He has served as a ward Young Men president three times, stake Young Men president twice, high counselor three times, counselor in a bishopric, bishop for six years, and is currently serving as the stake president of the Rexburg YSA 8th Stake on the BYU-I campus.
