Brian Sevy received his A.A. from Ricks College in 1986, B.S. in Political Science from Utah State University in 1989, and M.B.A. from Brigham Young University Marriott School in 1993.

In his nine years at Intel Corporation, Sevy led the innovation process for software products. As strategic planner for Intel, he conducted field research on the impact of information technology on life and relationships. He has founded multiple tech startup companies developing social-mobile software solutions. He is currently the CEO of a Mobile software company that helps organizations engage with their key audiences.

Sevy met Tammi Nissen at Ricks College in 1985 and they have been married since June of 1986. They have three daughters, two sons, one son-in-law, and one grandson. Their two sons are both leaving in 2013 to serve full-time missions.

Sevy has a love for ancient history and scripture. He is an active cyclist and enjoys the outdoors. He recently created a virtual community garden on Facebook for his home ward in Boise, Idaho. This is helping members collaborate on gardening with each other and their neighbors. He served a mission in the Arkansas, Little Rock Mission and has served on a stake high council, in a bishopric, and as a Young Men president.

Class Outline

Internet, mobile, and cloud technologies are revolutionizing the way we communicate, collaborate, and minister to each other. There is a flood of free tools and services that can bless our families, wards, and communities. Not only can these tools help us be more efficient, they provide new ways for us to interact and bless the lives of those for whom we have stewardship. This class will help you learn how to safely and appropriately tap into the power of digital tools.
