David A. Christensen was born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico. He graduated from BYU with B.S. and M.S. degrees.
Christensen served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a young man in Mexico City, Mexico. Upon his return, he married his childhood sweetheart in the Salt Lake City Temple. He has six daughters, two sons, and currently has 21 grandchildren.
He based his career around serving and teaching students. Christensen taught in Seminaries and Institutes, and was a faculty member in the Department of Religious Education at BYU-Idaho.
Christensen has served in various Church leadership positions including bishop, stake president, president of the Chile Santiago North Mission and Guatemala MTC president.
Currently, he is serving as CEO for the non-profit organization “One Life at a Time.”
