Blaine Maxfield grew up in Magna, Utah. After graduating from Cyprus High School, he attended Ricks College for a year before serving a mission in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. He loved his mission and the life-changing experiences he had there.
Following his mission, Maxfield returned to Ricks College where he played football for the Vikings, earning All-American honors. While at Ricks, he also met his wife, Jennifer. Following their marriage in the Salt Lake Temple, they moved to California to attend Stanford University where he played center for the Stanford Cardinal football team.
Once after a big game, a TV reporter asked Maxfield who his hero was. Instead of a sports figure, he answered that it was Jesus Christ.
Maxfield graduated from Stanford with a degree in Organizational Behavior and a master’s degree in Business Strategy. After graduating, he worked for several large companies. As part of his work, he was able to travel throughout the world, appearing in television interviews and writing articles for national magazines.
Maxfield is the CIO of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Managing Director of ICS (the Church’s IT department). He is responsible for the global technology of the Church.
Maxfield, his wife Jennifer, and their three children have lived in South Jordan for 10 years.
