Dance Alliance Frequently Asked Questions:
Where should I return my audition form?
You can fill it out and bring it to the Dance Office in MC 214 or you can bring it to the audition. You can also fill it out when it is provided at the audition as well.
What if I only have training in one genre of dance?
Come to the auditions and do your best at all the dance moves given. You'll be surprised at how much you can pick up. It is expected that some dancers have come from a background in a specific genre of dance. Come prepared to show your best.
Do I have to be a dance major?
No, all BYU-Idaho students are welcome to come audition and be on Dance Alliance.
Do I have to be taking classes during both semesters?
Yes, you have to be a full time student (minimum 12 credits) during both semesters to be on dance alliance.
Can I still audition if I didn't come to the information meeting?
Yes but it is highly recommended that you attend the information meeting so that you get all of the information that is applicable to each semester. The next Dance Alliance Information meeting is scheduled for January 8, 2016, at 3:15 p.m. in MC 372.
When is the next Dance Alliance audition?
The next Dance Alliance will be Winter/Spring 2016 so auditions are scheduled for January 9, 2016.
How many credits is Dance Alliance? Dance Alliance is a varied from 1-3 credits
What is the difference between 1 and 3 credits?
Nothing except that you get 1, 2, or 3 credits. You are still committed to the same amount of work.
When are the practices?
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 3:15-5:45 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00-12:00 pm.
Where has Dance Alliance gone on previous tours?
Georgia, Florida, Texas, Eastern Canada, Russia, and Panama.
Can I be on Dance Alliance and Collegiate Dancers?
No, you can only participate with one team at a time.
