Dance Alliance seeks to lift and inspire through dance that is "good report or praiseworthy" and strives to create a performance that will testify of Christ and the joy of living the restored gospel can bring.
What is Dance Alliance?
Dance Alliance is a unique dance company that distinguishes itself through its various genres including ballet, jazz, contemporary, swing, tap, ballroom, American folk, and world dance.
Since its founding in 1978, the team has performed in nearly all 50 states as well as Austria, Ukraine, Mexico, Canada, Ecuador, and New Zealand.
The company is made of 36 BYU-Idaho students that have strong backgrounds in various areas of dance. Members of Dance Alliance have the opportunity to work with several different choreographers from various professional backgrounds.
Who Can Join Dance Alliance?
Participants of Dance Alliance must be full time students on the Winter/Spring track or fast grad to participate. These students must have and maintain a GPA 2.0 or higher and must be enrolled in a dance technique class that is 200 level or higher (DANCE231R - DANCE 496R). An ecclesiastical endorsement is also necessary for participation.
Members of the Dance Alliance will need to purchase individual dance shoes and travel suit. The dates and cost of tour will be announced, but need to be committed to. The tour includes travel, lodging, two meals a day, tour clothes, and luggage.

Dance Alliance Auditions: Winter 2019--Wednesday, January 9, 2019
Collegiate Auditions: Fall 2018 Semester--Friday, September 21, 3:15 pm in MC Ballroom
Dance Alliance auditions will consist of learning 2-3 short combinations of varying dance styles. Please also come with 30-60 seconds of movement in your area of choice to perform for the audition panel.
Dance styles used in the show will demonstrate a wide variety of genres, including ballet, modern, jazz, rhythmic/footworks, hip hop, ballroom, and world/folk dance. Each style will be used in direct service to the show's theme.
Please wear comfortable, modest clothing. More clothing guidelines can be found on the Department of Dance's What to Wear page.
Read Before Auditioning
It is required that Dance Alliance members attend all rehearsals. Rehearsals are held:
Monday 3:15 - 5:45 pm
Wednesday 3:15 - 5:45 pm
Friday 3:15 - 5:45 pm
Saturday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
