Collegiate Dancers

Collegiate Dancers is a student directed performing group that provides students with leadership, teaching, performing and choreography opportunities. As representatives of BYU-Idaho, this outreach group performs for the community, schools, and local organizations in addition to campus events. Students that participate on this team gain lasting friendships, technical dance skills, and valuable team and leadership experience. Dancers audition to be accepted to the team and are chosen by individual choreographers to be in specific dance numbers.

The Collegiate Dancers will perform on campus in the Extravadance performance held each semester in the Kirkham Auditorium.

Application for Collegiate Dancers:  Application

All rehearsals throughout the semester for Collegiate Dancers will be held from 3:15pm-6:00 pm Monday-Friday (the day of the week will depend on the dance pieces you are in) and also on some Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00 pm. Saturday rehearsals will be held when a guest artist is setting a piece, if additional rehearsals are needed for a specific piece, and as it gets close to show time when we all need to meet together.

You do not need to be a full-time student, or on track to participate in Collegiate Dancers, however, you must register for the course for at least 1 credit. It is highly recommended that you also take a 200 level or above technique course along with participating in Collegiate Dancers.
