SERVICES
Counseling services are offered to full-time, on-track students at no charge. These services are intended primarily for those students who can be helped in a relatively short period of time.
Services include:
Assessment & Referral
Individual, Marital and Group Counseling
Crisis Intervention and Consultation to faculty, staff,
parents, and students.
Psychological Testing is available when considered
appropriate but may result in a financial charge to the
student.
Services are offered in order to:
Facilitate student adjustment and personal growth.
Assist students to develop new strategies to resolve problems and develop effective coping strategies to deal with life stresses.
Assist students with more intensive psychological concerns through supportive counseling or referral.
Provide consultation and support to faculty and staff who may encounter students in psychological distress.
In some cases, treatment with medications may need to be considered. Students will be served primarily through the physicians at the Student Health Center. A contracted psychiatrist may be consulted in more complex cases.
